Open Enrollment for 2027 Marketplace coverage in Florida runs from November 1 through January 15. If you buy your own health insurance, this is the one window each year when you can enroll, switch plans, or correct the income information that decides your financial help.
Three things worth doing before November 1
1. Check whether your current plan is still being offered. Carriers move in and out of the Florida market every year, and a plan that worked well in 2026 may not exist in 2027. If yours is ending, you will be moved into a replacement automatically, and that replacement is rarely the cheapest option available to you.
2. Re-check your income estimate. Financial help is based on the household income you project for the coverage year, not on last year's tax return. A raise, a new job, a spouse starting or stopping work, or a self-employed year that came in differently than expected all change the number. Whether that moves your premium up or down depends on your situation, so it is worth getting right.
3. Compare the whole plan, not the monthly price. The lowest premium is frequently the most expensive plan to actually use. Look at the deductible, the out-of-pocket maximum, and whether your doctors and prescriptions are covered before you decide.
If you already have coverage through a job
Marketplace plans are not sold to people who have affordable employer coverage, and you cannot receive financial help for one there. If you lose that job-based coverage, a different window opens for you. See our post on the 60-day rule.
What it costs to work with us
Nothing. We are an independent agency, so we are not tied to any single carrier. We look at what is available in your ZIP code, show you the real numbers, and you decide from there.
If you would rather not wait until November, reach out now. We can review your situation ahead of time and have a recommendation ready before the window opens.
